How To Register For WYD08
Our aim is to ensure that we all travel together from Melbourne to Sydney and back and that we be accommodated together once we are in Sydney. To be registered for WYD08 you must:
- Register as a pilgrim directly with WYD08 via their Egeria registration system (read more here)
- Specify group ID along with your personal details (see list of VCYAM group IDs here)
- Pay only the WYD Registration package fee directly to WYD08 via Egeria registration system
- Register with VCYAM to reserve a seat on our 5 Star Coach to Sydney and be accommodated with other VCYAM members during your stay in Sydney
- Pay transportation fees to VCYAM via your local representatives.
Read and follow the instructions below carefully.
How to register with WYD08 for WYD08 Week
This is registration with the official WYD08 organising committee, and must be done via their website including package fee payment. Visit: www.wyd2008.org to find out more information about registration and packages.
All pilgrims must belong to a group, and if you wish to join the VCYAM group and be accommodated with us, you will automatically be registered with Package A, which includes all accommodation between the 15th -20th July 2008 plus meals and other priveledges (read more on this here).
There are two ways to register with WYD08:
- Go online here and start registering via WYD08 Egeria Registration System. You will need a group name to join, check this list for your favourite VCYAM affiliated group name to enter to join.
- Download a form we’ve prepared here, complete it and return it to us via your local WYD08 VCYAM Representative or scan and email it back to us via melbourne.wyd4vn@gmail.com. We will then complete the registration process online for you and you will be contacted by WYD08 Egeria System for confirmation provided that you have a valid email address.
Cost: $395 (Package A, go here for more information about package A)
PLEASE NOTE: As of 1st May, we’ve decided NOT to stay on in Sydney for Monday and Tuesday due to changing accommodation issues. This also means that we’ll not be participating in the Sydney Harbour cruise on Monday night as proposed. We’ll now depart Sydney following the Papal Mass in the afternoon of Sunday 20th July, arriving in Melbourne early morning on Monday 21st July 2008.
Payment options: Check with your local youth representative on how to pay. Otherwise, you can pay directly via Credit Card payment (Visa and Mastercard) to WYD08 via the same registration forms.
If you belong to an VCYAM affiliated youth group you must contact your group leader or WYD08 Coordinator for detailed instructions. Different groups may have different administrative and handling process.
How to register with VCYAM for transport to & from Sydney
This second part is a registration with VCYAM indicating that you wish to travel with us and be accommodated together with other affiliated VCYAM groups.
If you belong to an VCYAM affiliated youth group you must contact your group leader or WYD08 Coordinator for detailed instructions. Different groups may have different administrative and handling process.
Contact: your local youth representative or WYD08 coordinator.
Cost: $180 (Seats are now limited please check with us immediately to reserve your seat)
Payment Option: Check with your local youth representative on how to pay. Otherwise direct credit/ bank trasfer to VCYAM, account details will be supplied once you’re registered with us.
Deposit: $50 deposit must be made to VCYAM at time of registration. Remaining $130 fee to be made no later than 30th June 2008 to secure your seat on our 5 Star Coach. If deposit and full fee are NOT recieved by 30th June 2008, then we can not guarantee you an allocated seat on our coaches, you must make your own travel arrangements to Sydney.
All members must be registered with VCYAM to:
- Reserve an seat on a round trip to and and from Sydney via our 5 Star Coaches.
- Be accommodated together with other VCYAM youths in Sydney.
